吹牛 (Chuī Niú)

 It means to brag.

The first word that comes to mind when I see Chui, it is to blow. While Niu is cow. A funny combination, right? 


Using my imagination, the origin of this word is that someone bragged they can blow their cow away.

It's interesting how exaggeration is used. Which is what a brag is. Exaggerated version of the truth.
